Presented in collaboration with Vache Baroque, The Tempest is an immersive semi-opera experience blending Shakespeare’s spellbinding text with Baroque music, live electronics and storytelling.
 

Rooted in the rich sound worlds of composers such as Henry Purcell, Matthew Locke, Pelham Humfrey and their contemporaries, this production invites audiences into a vivid convergence of music and theatre, where magic, nature and transformation come alive.

First performed under a big-top tent beside lake and woodland, Shakespeare’s words  unfold in dynamic interplay with 17th-century music, improvisation and masque.
